Bio:

Born in Florida, Rebecca now lives and works in southeastern Virginia. She  received her MFA in Visual Art from Vermont College of Fine Arts, where she studied painting, illustration, and animation. She received her BFA from Old Dominion University, with concentrations in Drawing & Design, and Painting, with a minor in Art History.  An avid yoga practitioner, she also recently became a certified yoga teacher. 

Active in the ViBe Creative District, she has been an artist member at 1701 Virginia Beach Coworking for over a year.

  • Will be teaching an intuitive painting and mindful movement workshop at Outside The Lines Art Studio in Norfolk, May 2019   
     

  • Currently creating a mural for the 18th Street Parklet Fence in the ViBe Creative District.
     

  • Current work on display at 1701VB, the Virginia Beach Coworking Space, Virginia Beach, VA. Sept. 2017-Ongoing.

  • Participated in Luke Jerram’s public art project Play Me, I’m Yours by painting a piano to look like a miniature of the historic Moses Myer’s House in Norfolk, VA, Summer of 2017.
     

  • Selected to design imagery to represent the Chrysler Museum during the Glass Arts Society Conference, Summer 2017
     

  • Painted a full room mural for exhibition Sold! for the Hermitage Museum and Gardens.
     

  • Participated in the Summer 2015 Senior Exhibition, “Mirrored Genesis” at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Galleries at Old Dominion University, August 7, 2015-August 23, 2015.
     

  • Selected to display artwork in nationally televised commercial for Old Dominion University and the Art Department, July 2015.
     

  • Selected to exhibit two paintings at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, from May 28, 2015-July 18, 2015.
     

  • Selected to present a painting at ODU New Student Welcome Day, introducing new students to the ODU art department and answering questions, March 2015.
     

  • Selected to present a painting at ODU Scholar’s Day, welcoming new and prospective students to the school, March 2015.
     

  • Selected to exhibit a painting in the Juried Art Exhibition for the 7th Annual ODU Undergraduate Research Symposium, Mentor: Professor Elliott Jones. Spring 2015.
     

  • Submitted a hand-colored relief print to the 2014 International Prints for Peace Exhibition. Prints were donated to the Prints for Peace archive and displayed in Monterrey, Mexico. May 2014.
     

  • Selected to exhibit artwork in the 2014 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, Spring 2014.
